Takano's Miracle

On the following page, you will find the story of Takano's miracle. In a short summary, "Takano's Miracle" is an incredible story about Takano's journey after being shot by a deer hunter November 9, 2002. After being shot, he ran up the side of the mountain, and we were not able to find Takano for six weeks. Without stealing Takano's thunder, I will just say this. He stayed alive for six weeks, three of those weeks consisting of what seemed like an army of hunters in the area during the daylight hours. On December 22, 2002 Takano found me as I was walking once again on the side of the mountain, of which we used to call "The Kid's Mountain. We now call this mountain, "Takano's Mountain." Takano lives in Missoula, Montana.

It was a miracle Takano stayed alive with the wounds he substained, and the lack of food, as well as some very cold, snowy and frozen conditions. I invite you to follow the link below and read about Takano's miracle. It is somewhat of a lengthy story, but this is my way of honoring Takano and his incredible journey. I included everything in my writing his story in holding true to the entire experience. Takano can communicate, but not in the way we humans are familiar with. If only he could tell us his experiences up there on that mountain those six weeks. Now that would be quite the story! It is late August, 2003 as I write this and Takano is in wonderful shape now. His surgery was an incredible success, and he only occasionally exhibits a limp. To say I am forever grateful is a radical understatement. Enjoy.
